Pastor Bill Shanks and his church congregation got involved in the pro-life movement in 1985. They began preaching and offering help to the women outside of local abortion clinics in New Orleans, La. After watching a video titled ‘The Silent Scream’, Pastor Bill was horrified and cried out to God asking him to stop the killing of these unborn babies. The Lord replied, “Why don’t you?” Pastor Bill knew what had to be done and spent the next thirty-seven years trying to put a stop to the abortion holocaust. In 1988, Pastor Bill Shanks got involved in Operation Rescue and Operation Save America as one of the National leaders. He has gone to the halls of congress, talked with state legislators, visited the White House, the state capital and city hall to bring awareness of the wickedness and horrors of abortion.
“When we began, there were ten free standing abortion clinics in New Orleans. Nine out of ten closed (crumbled under the weight of their own iniquity) as the church of the Lord Jesus Christ showed up and stormed the gates of hell. The final one was closed proceeding Roe vs Wade being overturned.”

Intercession is defined as the act of petitioning God or praying on behalf of another person or group. The sinful nature of this world separates human beings from God. It has always been necessary, therefore, for righteous individuals to go before God to seek reconciliation between Him and His fallen creation.
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”
2 Chronicles 16.9
From the scriptures, we see that the Lord calls out for intercessors. This calling is for the entire Body of Christ. If our Lord purposed to leave his heavenly home to bring salvation to this unbelieving world through the cross, it should compel us to get under the burden and stand in the gap, praying for others.
The foundation of our prayer gathering is the Spirit of unity as we are of one mind and of one accord seeking the mind of Christ and his perfect will in every prayer request. Within the Spirit of unity and agreement, our prayers are heard and God commands the blessing which is life evermore – healing, deliverance and salvation.
I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go into the house of the LORD.”

The purpose of the Worship team is to ultimately and entirely bring glory to God; our primary means of fulfilling this goal is by collectively leading and aiding members of the Body of Christ in corporate worship. We emphasize that our purpose and calling is that of leading others into the very presence of the Living God.

The Men’s Ministry is dedicated to glorifying God by reaching men in the community and providing sound teaching and doctrine for them to live a productive godly life. This ministry unites men to become godly men, encouraging them to make promises that last a lifetime – to Jesus Christ, their families and to one another. We are devoted to instructing young men on how they can become effective leaders of the Body of Christ in today’s world.

We are committed to the Titus 2 mandate. We encourage the older women to be examples and teachers of the younger women. This happens by establishing godly mentoring relationships that will encourage and equip all of us to live for the glory of God.

Our children’s ministry is committed to teaching the Bible to children through engaging, age-appropriate activities, in a safe and loving environment. Through Bible stories, music and creative lessons, our desire is to grow children in their knowledge of Biblical truths, their love and understanding of God and in their development of a personal relationship with Jesus. We are devoted to helping our children in partnership with the parents, come to KNOW Jesus Christ, GROW to be like him, and GO serve him.

We endeavor to reach the unsaved through preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, fulfilling the great commission. We are commissioned to share the Gospel with the unreached and lost world calling sinners to turn to Christ in repentance and faith leading them to a personal and growing relationship with our Lord and Savior.
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

During the beginning stages of Covid, it became very apparent that there was a targeted agenda against children, family units, the churches and American rights/ values. We saw churches shut down in fear, children masked, families incentivized to put potential poison in their bodies, and a transgender agenda aggressively pushed on the masses. There was a further eroding away from the truth of the word of God and the fear of the Lord. All of these cultural sways clothe with a false message of love and yet the masses were still sleeping, while their free will and autonomy were being forcibly removed. Jamie and Nick, a local couple and members of New Covenant Fellowship, became burdened in their heart for the issues facing their children, community, and nation as a whole. Through prayer, prophecy and series of events, Jefferson Assembly was soon birthed.
The scripture says in Isaiah 59:19, “When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of The Lord will lift up a standard against him to flight.”
We believe Jefferson Assembly and the remnant, the Ekklasia, are that standard. These local advocacy pillars are established on truth, righteousness and justice. They believe Jefferson Assembly is a strong force being raised up in this hour to help combat the flood of evil in every cultural area of influence. JP assembly has championed various causes within the local school board, library system, and multiple legislative issues. Jamie and Nick along with JP assembly, know they are called to speak up and out for the voiceless, and for all the rights of those who are vulnerable according to Proverbs 31:8-9.
Jamie and Nick have answered the call to be a beacon of light, to shift the tide, through opposing the evil cultural agendas; they committed to establishing Gods kingdom on earth to every area of influence with the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit. We believe God isn’t finished with America yet, but rather the shakings are a call for the Deborahs and Davids to arise and take back dominion for the Lord Jesus Christ.
