Beliefs

We believe in one God – Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Creator of all things. 

(John 1:1-5, 10:14; Matthew 28:18-20)

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven. 

We believe the Bible and its entirety to be the inspired Word of God, the infallible rule of faith and conduct.

We believe in the personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. 

(Genesis 1:26-31, Romans 5:12-21, Romans 10:8-10) 

We believe that repentance is the result of the convicting work of the Holy Spirit in the loves of non-believers and believers. The conviction of the Holy Spirit which often accompanies the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ, will result in the revelation of one’s sinfulness, which should lead to sorrow. Godly sorrow causes us to turn away from sin and selfishness and receive faith for change.

We believe in sanctification through the Word of God, the Holy Spirit and in personal holiness of heart and life. We believe that faith without works is dead. Faith results in an accompanying and corresponding action. Personal holiness is essential to a living, active faith. Right practice is as important as right belief.

We believe in divine healing through faith in the name of Jesus Christ. 

(Psalm 103:3) 

We believe in water baptism and the baptism in the Holy Spirit as distinct from the new birth, in speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance and the gift of the Spirit as the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit. We believe that all are available to believers.

We believe the church is the body of Christ, the habituation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. We believe in evangelizing and missionary work in accordance with the great commission.

We believe in financial giving. Scriptures provide a pattern for financial support of the church through tithing a tenth part, which should be expected of all believers. Special offerings, as on is able and compelled, provide a means to meet specific needs as well as to express love for God, and to obey the command to care for the poor. Giving tithes and offerings should be practiced continually by all believers and support the work of God in the world.

We believe in guidance and biblical counsel. The church which is alive to God has spiritual resources for those seeking help. The chief resources are the renewing power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God both written and living, prayer, counsel and support and Christian community. Through the church’s ministry, God can bring healing and reconciliation. Such care and nurture of people is offered in programs through the wisdom, counsel, and support of those within the church that are gifted and mature in the faith.

We believe in church discipline. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking God’s mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. We believe that every person is to be afforded compassion, love, kindness, and respect. It is within this context and this mindset that church discipline is to be conducted. Discipline of believers in truth and love, in a spirit of meekness and confidentiality provided for the restoration of the one subject to the discipline and hence the strengthening of the church.

We believe that a person’s identity as a male or female is determined by their gender assigned at birth. 

(Genesis 2:24, Leviticus 18:1-30, Romans 1:26-29, 1 Corinthians 5:1, 6:9, 1 Thessalonians 4:18, Hebrews 13:4) 

We believe that God instituted marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family, the basic structure of human society. The church shall only sanction or conduct marriages between a man and a woman. God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged other than in the context of marriage between man and woman.
